Non-Plot Gridlines in Table Style Schedule Showing Up Gray or Invisible

Issue

You placed a schedule using our updated Table format with the Gridlines non-plot option selected, and the gridlines are showing up in your drawing as gray, or not showing up at all (invisible).

The schedule gridlines may be showing up gray ...

... or not showing up at all.

Cause

For table style schedules with non-plot gridlines, such as the Irrigation Schedule, the gridlines are set to No Border in the LAFX-SCHEDULE-NPLT table style for data, header, and title cells. AutoCAD creates the No Border gridline by placing the gridlines on the Defpoints layer and setting their line color to gray. The layer and line color are out of our control, but the gridlines will not plot in CTB or STB plot styles.

If the gridlines are invisible, the Defpoints layer is likely either frozen (as pictured to the right) or turned off.

Solution & Tips

You can choose whether or not the border lines show in Model and Paper Space by using the layer controls for the Defpoints layer.

More information on using layer controls such as freezing/thawing and turning on/off

If the Defpoints layer is frozen or turned off, the gridlines will not show. However, these settings will also make it slightly more difficult for you to select the schedule block - you will need to click something in the schedule that is not cell text to select the schedule block, such as a symbol or the title (which is an attribute).

If the Defpoints layer is thawed (not frozen) or turned on, the gridlines will appear as gray but will still not plot. We have yet to find a way to change this color from the AutoCAD default.
