Custom Plants or Other Blocks or Hatches Not Showing Up as Symbol Options

Issue

You created custom blocks and saved them in the folder with other similar blocks, but your custom blocks are not showing up as options when you go to select a symbol for a plant, Reference Note, or other Land F/X object. You may be experiencing this issue with:

• 2D plant symbols
• Color plant symbols
• Site blocks
• Irrigation equipment
• Detail builder blocks

Cause

You may not be saving your custom symbol blocks into the correct folder. For the software to be able to work with custom blocks, they need to be saved into a subfolder of one of our block libraries – not into the parent folders.

Solution

Verify that you've saved your custom blocks into a viable subfolder within the folder LandFX/Blocks.

For example, if you created custom color plant blocks, verify that you've saved them into the appropriate plant category subfolder (Trees, Shrubs, or Groundcover) within the folder LandFX/Blocks/Graphics/Planting/Color – and not simply within the Color subfolder.
