You want to customize your plant labels so they show common plant names rather than botanical names.

Solution

You can edit existing plant label types, or create new ones, to match your office standards. You would use Planting Preferences to view the existing callout options, select an option that closely matches your intent, open the CAD drawings that represent that style, change and edit that style as necessary, and either re-save the drawings with an overwrite, or save as a new callout style with a new thumbnail to represent it.
