Strange or Unexpected Characters Appearing in Plant Names within the Plant Schedule

Issue

You placed a Plant Schedule in your drawing, and you're noticing strange or unexpected characters in the plant names, as in the following example.

Example of a schedule with strange characters in plant names

Cause

We're updating the formatting of plant names to include the unicode ™ and ® symbols so they can be placed in the correct locations in plants' botanical names. Some fonts – for example, many SHX fonts – don't include these symbols.

Solution

You can address this issue by using fonts that do include these symbols for your Land F/X Text Styles such as Schedule Text, which controls the font used to show plant names in your Plant Schedules. In general, we recommend using TrueType fonts.
