This week’s Power Tip highlights a time-saving set of irrigation keyboard commands used in combination with SmartArc for a fluid process of laying out irrigation heads in record time.
You could continue selecting each radius and arc pattern from the toolbar and still come up with a good layout. However, Thanks to PBR Hawaii, you will see a command line option for Keyboard Commands that appears when placing heads. Typing K will bring up a dialog box displaying a list of keyboard commands. We’ll focus on two of those keys today that when used in combination with SmartArc, will unleash a powerful new way for you to layout your irrigation heads. The steps are easy:
- Select SmartArc from the irrigation toolbar.
- Typing Q will reduce the size of the spray radius.
- Typing E will increase the size of the spray radius.
- Click once to place the head.
- Click again to set the first point of the spray pattern.
- Move the cursor to complete the spray to fit your layout.
This fluid process allows you to move quickly through each planting area ensuring proper coverage and reduced overspray. When it comes time to place heads, remember to use Keyboard Commands with SmartArc for a fluid process of laying out heads in record time.
This is another Power Tip brought to you by your friends at the Land F/X Labs. We’re here to make your workflow more efficient, so you can spend less time documenting and more time... designing.
A special thanks to PBR Hawaii for suggesting this feature! Mahalo nui loa!
