11:00 – 14:34: Adding Plants

The wiki-based Land F/X plant database (11:00)

Searching for a plant by genus name or “sounds like” (11:50)

Editing a plant after adding it to a project (12:45)

Note that if you mistakenly place a plant in the wrong category (such as adding a tree in the shrub category), Land F/X will lock you out of the appropriate symbol category. In this case, you’ll need to go back to the Plant Manager and move the plant into the correct category. (13:15)

14:35 – 20:04: Planting Preferences

The Planting Preferences (14:35)

Customizing the Plant Labels (15:10)

Customizing the Plant Schedule (15:50)

Label options (Paper Space or Model Space) (16:56)

The Plant Sizes Preferences (17:20)

Question: Can the software show nursery availability for each plant? (19:20)

Answer: We hope to make this option available, but it can be tricky to show this stat due to nurseries’ propensity to show every plant they’ve ever grown, rather than just available plants, in their catalogs.

Placing a Plant Schedule with plants grouped or limited according to Work Area (example: different phases of a project) (24:00)
