Can I use F/X CAD without Land F/X?
No. F/X CAD requires a supported version of a Land F/X license – that is, Planting F/X, Design F/X, or Irrigation F/X.
Does F/X CAD include a Land F/X license?
No. F/X CAD is the base CAD platform that our Land F/X licenses add on top of. We are able to sell F/X CAD without a Land F/X license to our existing clients who already own their Land F/X license. F/X CAD will not work without a supported Land F/X license.
I have Civil 3D 2026. Can I install F/X CAD 2026?
No. If you already have AutoCAD 2026, or any vertical version (e.g., Civil 3D, Mechanical, etc.), you cannot install F/X CAD. You will need to follow our uninstallation steps to completely remove Civil 3D or any other version of AutoCAD 2026 before installing F/X CAD.
What is the activation process for F/X CAD 2026?
When you purchase F/X CAD 2026, we will send a request to Autodesk for your custom Product Key and Serial Number. We will send you an email containing these items as soon as we receive them from Autodesk, which can take up to 48 hours. The email will also include a link to download the installer. At that point, you can install F/X CAD 2026 and activate it immediately using your Product Key, Serial Number, and Land F/X Support ID.
How long does it take to activate my license?
Autodesk’s policy is to provide us with your custom Serial Number and Product Key within 48 hours of your purchase. In most cases, you’ll receive these items from us within 24 hours. Once you’ve received your Serial Number, Product Key, and installer link from us, you can install and activate F/X CAD immediately.
On how many computers can I install?
One license of F/X CAD 2026 is only to be installed on one person's work computer and home computer or laptop, and only one of these installations may be used at a time by that person. When a purchase happens for F/X CAD 2026, whether it is an upgrade or first-time purchase, 1 license = 1 serial number = 2 installations (home or laptop) per user.
If I purchased multiple seats, can I use the same Serial Number and Product Key for all my computers?
If you have more than two computers, no. Each purchased license of F/X CAD will generate a different Serial Number and Product Key. You can use them on up to two computers.
Can I install on a home computer or laptop?
Yes.
Do I have to upgrade each year?
No. Although we recommend upgrading to the new version each year upon paying your subscription fee, we support the 5 most recent year versions of F/X CAD. As long as you are up to date on your subscription, you can continue using your current F/X CAD version as long as it's still supported. However, as soon as we drop support for that version, you'll need to install the latest edition if you want to continue using F/X CAD.
Does my F/X CAD subscription include renewal of my Land F/X plugin license?
No. The Land F/X plugins (Irrigation F/X, Planting F/X, Design F/X) are separate subscriptions. The yearly F/X CAD subscription fee covers:
1. The latest CAD updates
2. Land F/X tech support on all F/X CAD issues (installation, activation, plotting, crashing, opening & saving files, customization)
3. Hot fixes & Object Enablers
Can I renew my license of a Land F/X plugin without paying my F/X CAD subscription fee?
Yes. However, note that the Land F/X plugins (Irrigation F/X, Planting F/X, Design F/X) require a CAD installation. If you choose not to pay your F/X CAD subscription fee, your F/X CAD installation will no longer function as of your subscription renewal date. If you wanted to continue using Land F/X, your only other option at that point would be an AutoCAD subscription (at a greater cost).
Can F/X CAD send or receive files, and work with AutoCAD and other CAD platforms?
Yes. F/X CAD will work with all CAD platforms. Your files will be compatible with AutoCAD and other versions, and vice versa.
Can F/X CAD import a PDF?
Yes, F/X CAD can import PDF documents.
Can I add/install third-party plugins to F/X CAD?
Unfortunately, as part of our contract with Autodesk, you cannot.
Can I use LISP routines?
No, we are not allowed to enable LISP routines on F/X CAD. The good news is that most LISP routines requested by our clients are already built into the Land F/X licenses. Email us at support@landfx.com if you are looking for specific functionality, and we will help you out!
Can F/X CAD open my old drawings?
Yes. Autodesk is maintaining a full downward file compatibility. Even drawings from version 2000 will open.
Can I view proxy objects from Civil 3D?
Yes. F/X CAD can view proxy objects.
Can I use vertical toolsets such as the Raster Design, Architectural, or Map 3D toolsets with F/X CAD?
No. As part of our licensing agreement with AutoCAD, F/X CAD cannot run with vertical toolsets.
