Quick question which is probably covered in documentation, but I have not been able to locate through search; Can valve ( Zone Control Kit & Quick Coupler) symbiols be rotated in place once placed on a mainline? If yes, does this change after the mainline or the valve in question has been sized? We have a number of valves that are we would like to rotate parallel to the mainline segment to which the are attached. Currently they are parallel to edge of the sheet.

Thank you,

Daniel,

You can set the valve symbol's rotation to Manual. Do this by editing the valve, click on the symbol, and in the symbol selection dialog box click on the symbol and click edit. There, select Manual Rotation. Note that is then set globally for the symbol, in any and all projects and models. When you then place it, the system will immediately prompt to rotate it. And when you place it directly on a mainline segment, it will auto-rotate to the alignment of the mainline.

Great, Thank you. So now I know how to set manual for future valve placements, what is my best option for adjusting valves that were placed prior to making the change to Manual?

Thank you,
The Rotate command?
That's what I thought , but per my original inquiry, I wanted to make sure using the rotate command didn't "break" any connection to thew pipe data. Your reply confirms that it will not.

Thanks again..
Daniel,

Here's a real time saver.
Rule #1: DO NOT COPY PIPED EQUIPMENT
1. Outside of your print area, using Ortho (F8) and the appropriate Snap (F9) for your plot scale, create an entire manifold. For instance, include your quick coupling valve, isolation valves, and more control valves than you will need in a single manifold.
2. Then use one of my favorite commands. MOCORO! This is not a country located between Italy and Algeria. That would be MOROCCO. MOCORO stands for MOve, COpy and ROtate. Locate all of your manifolds wherever you need them now and they will be located and rotated in-line with your mainline (which may or not be placed in the drawing). Note: Use CO (not MO) first so that you leave your master where it is for future use.

I hope that this saves you lots of time.budget and more time with your family and friends

Seaweed.
Daniel,
Using the Rotate command in your case wont affect any connection of the pipe data.
I used to do this many times in my plans, and later checking the data of the pipes and the equipments..they stay the same..
