I have finished – done – competed a very large irrigation project with Hunter MP Rotator heads. Well, at least I thought I was done. Today, the client asked me to change those to a RainBird Rotary product. In Land F/X, if we want to change an Oak to an Elm, we simply go into the Planting Manager, and edit the plant, and it will show up correctly in both the tags and the plant legend. Is there a similar process for Irrigation f/x? How do I satisfy the client without laying out all of the heads again? Rainbird and Hunter products have different radii. Does that mean I destroy head to head coverage if I swap them? Further, there are no square, end, or side strip Rainbird Rotary heads. I’m sure others have experienced a similar situation. I was wondering how LandFX can help expedite this process.
Your best bet is going to be using Match Properties, like so:
- add the Rain Bird Rotaries to the project
- Place the Rain Bird heads, a full of each, and a partial arc of each
- Use our Match Properties tool to convert away! Note that after selecting a first target head, further windowing will only apply to that nozzle. So in this manner, you will be able to very quickly take care of the full circles. The partial arcs will take a little more effort.

Ugh, Seaweed, this has happened to me. Fortunately, I got a change order for the changes, and re-did the head layout. Because of the different radii between the two brands, I could see no other choice. Good luck.
