Good Morning, We utilize Land F/X not only for designing but to perform irrigation takeoff's.   It would be nice to see the following features added to the software.

1)  Sizing pipe while drawing mainline or lateral piping.  Utilizing the command window being able to type in the pipe size between clicks.

2)  Sizing multiple segments of pipe with the edit equipment feature.

Thank you and hope everyone at Land F/X enjoys the holidays.

Jeremy,

Thanks for the suggestions. Please see below for answers to your questions.

1) I am a little lost at what you are trying to achieve for this. The purpose of the sizing tools is that you simply connect heads in the fashion you want things piped, and the system will do the calculations based on demands automatically. From the pipe data and pipe sizing dialogs you have full control as to what sizes go where, without needing to think about what size goes where. Please explain more if you would like.

2) Also unclear on this one. Using the Size Laterals and Size Mainline tools will automatically size all segments of pipe. Please clarify what you are aiming to do here.

I am also happy to discuss these over the phone with you if you would like to chat. You can reach us at 805-541-1003

Thanks!

Jake,

Thank you for the reply.

We use the software for doing qty takeoff's as well as doing the design's and the software doesn't always match up to what is designed by someone else when you have it automatically size the pipe.   So having the ability to call out pipe size as you are drawing it or selecting multiple segments of pipe and changing their size would be a big time saver for us.

Thank you.

I'm a little confused too. Are you tracing someone else's drawings? Hmm. I suppose that if the other people used  LandFX in the design, you should be able to get their drawings and their *.LFX file and and then just rerun a new schedule and have it separate the pipe into different types. Just an idea.
