We are just beginning to integrate LandFX in our office and working toward integrating our office standard into the system. While working with tree symbols I notice that when the canopy diameter is changed that this results in the entire tree symbol (including the trunk) being scaled up. When placing larger canopy trees (40'-60') in a 20 scale plan this results in a large and often obstructive trunk symbol. Am I missing a setting that retains a constant trunk size but allows the canopy to be representational of anticipated spread? I anticipate this would be similar to spray heads with varying radius options. The head symbols do not change scale as the radius increases.

Any input or feedback is appreciated.

Daniel,
We are glad to hear you are integrating Land F/X more into your workflow! You are correct in your findings, that the symbols are being sized based on the overall width of the symbol, so whatever lies within the symbol block with also reflect this scale change. Might we suggest taking a look at the symbols you are using and finding one with either a smaller trunk diameter or a different trunk symbol all together, such as a + mark instead.

You could also make a section of blocks modified for the use in a smaller scaled plan. These could be stored into the system and you could set these symbols if they need a smaller trunk size on the design you are working on.

The planting side places as just one block currently, not near the complexity of the irrigation portion of the software. Feel free to send us examples of what you think may be a more appropriate size and function to these blocks and we can go from there if needed.
