What about adding the layer suffix to the text info attached to the corner of the work area?

Example - currently I have a work area with name of 100+00-150+50 (or something like that). It displays the following.
100+00-150+50 1"=30'
Could it be changed to include the layer suffix which is typically 4 characters. this example the suffix is A004 (for area 4). Display as
100+00-150+50 1"=30' A004

It seems this would make it easier to keep track of what is where if you have large complicated plans or long linear plans. Then you could just glance at the top of the work area to see the suffix for layer work, instead of having to dig around to see which suffix matches the work area. Obviously this is not a concern for plans that only have 1 or 2 work areas or plans that the work area names can match the suffix.

Thoughts?

Brandon,

We absolutely have plans to do so. Pending for work areas is to be able to set the scale when creating it, and to use the Edit Object button to change any of its settings. And along with that, have the Suffix visible in some fashion. The only head-scratcher is how to convince users that editing the suffix in the text directly will not affect anything. That's literally the only reason the suffix is not currently in the title, as we need to allow using the Edit Object button to change the suffix, and then that needs to apply the new suffix to all enclosed entities, and somehow this all needs to work if the work area is in an xref.
But all absolutely on the calendar!
