How to View Planting F/X for Revit® Plants in Enscape™

Issue

You'd like to see Planting F/X tree and shrub families when you render your planting plan in Escape in Revit, but they don't show up at all. You'd also like to customize which Enscape assets are used for each family.

Cause

Our tree and shrub families connect to Enscape via Enscape's pre-programmed asset replacements for the default Revit RPC content. We've included those RPCs in our default families, but only on fine detail visibility.

Solution

In the view you're rendering with Enscape, either turn the detail level of the view to fine, or type VG to open Viability Graphics for the view and set planting families to fine detail view only. These trees will now appear with their RPC assignments, and Enscape will recognize them and auto-apply assets.

To change the assigned Enscape asset, follow Enscape's guide to Link Revit family to asset.

Future roadmap plans: The ability to save changes to the Enscape asset connected to a Planting F/X family and save that information into your Planting F/X project data for that plant so you can import the plant to future projects and the Enscape connection will already remember the change.
