Stop the MySQL Service

Issue

You need to stop the MySQL service.

Solution

Press the Windows + R keys (Windows keyboard) or Command + R keys (Mac keyboard) to open the Run dialog box.

 

Type services.msc in the text field, and click OK.

In the Services screen, scroll down to the MySQL entry. Click this entry to highlight it. Then click Stop the service.

You've successfully stopped the MySQL service and can now complete the operation that required you to stop it.
