Error Executing Data Request – Data Too Long for Column \'data_code 3\' (Working With Color Plant Symbols)

Issue

You received the following error message:

Error executing data request: Data too long for column \'data_code 3\' at row 1 [ insert into project_data values (\'1-30-2013, \'Plant\' ....

Different Error executing data request message?

It's possible to get one of several Error executing data request messages:

  • Error executing data request: Data too long for column 'data_code'
  • Error executing data request message when saving a Dimension Style (DimStyle)
  • Error executing data request: Data too long for column 'data_symbol' ...

 

 

Cause

This error is the result of an issue with a color symbol that has been assigned to a plant with our Color Render tool.

 

 

Solution

Copy and paste the following text into the Command line:

lx_connect

(fx:increasefield "data_code3" 30)

lx_disconnect

 

Then press Enter.

 

The error should now be resolved.
