Land F/X Holiday Power Tip
Holiday Power Tip: Long Way Home
Sometimes you have to stand up and do the right thing, even though it's difficult. Sometimes that thing means helping a stranger. Sometimes it means a friendly quasi-athletic competition/wager between two mythical (but very real) beings. If only the right thing always involved Legos, we'd know that everything is going to be OK. Happy holidays from the Land F/X team.

Sometimes you need a detail callout that’s a little less flashy, without block symbols or leaders, so it fits within a simple multiline text (MTEXT) note. POWER TIP:  What Is An IES File?
Power Tip-What is an IES File?
Recommended by Alex Zahn

In the realm of lighting design, you may encounter IES files. These text files contain numerical data representing the three-dimensional “shape” of a light fixture’s projection. Closely related to “beam spread,” or “beam angle,” an IES file captures the nuanced light output pattern emitted by a particular fixture. We’ll shed some light on how manufacturers capture this photometric data, and how designers use it.

Visit our Lighting Features page for even more lighting design tools.

Article from Archdaily.com

Modern Portuguese architecture has a renowned tradition of exploring the virtues of the landscape, either by integrating or emphasizing the natural elements to create new landscapes that result from the overlapping of culture and nature. Some fine examples include the Boa Nova Tea House and the Leça da Palmeira Tide Pools, both designed by Álvaro Siza, reacting to the rocky seascape where they lie, each in its own way.

However, it is not just modern architecture that is concerned with the landscape. In Portugal, contemporary works have been revealing exciting examples of the possibilities of approaching the natural environment and exploring its potential without compromising its integrity. To illustrate, we have gathered 12 contemporary projects that use different resources to explore the relationship between natural and built.

We'll go over the role played by blocks within our software, showing the various types of blocks you have access to and how they all function. We'll also show you how to integrate your personal set of custom blocks into our system. You'll come away from this presentation well versed in the power of the block.
