When calculating groundcover plant count within a hatched area, does landfx account for holding back plants 1 foot away from hard edges such as sidewalks and curbs, and holding back from trees?

Hi Brenda,

Land F/X calculates plant spacing in hatches based on our natural spacing calculation by default. If you'd like to ensure a calculation for separating the plants 1ft from hardscape, you should offset your hatch boundary by 1ft before placing the hatch. This way it's also clear to the eventual contractor that there should be a 1ft gap.

Also, there's no holdback from trees. Try using the multiple option while placing the groundcover hatch (you'll need to place circles around the trees first), or the following technique using plant outlines for larger areas with many trees.

Power Tip: Create a Larger Gap between Shrubs and Groundcovers
