We have been asked recently on a few projects to provide a hydro zone chart and graphic to show the irrigation and planting design and how it relates to exposure, slope, and irrigation type. we have been using Site Developer because we can hatch the area and get area while providing the necessary description in the description. I know that the Schematic Irrigation tool provides a lot of features but the cities do not seem worried about flow or GPM to these areas, just area and exposure. i have included the latest exhibit we have done and wanted to ask if there is a better way anyone can think of to do this type of graphic irrigation plan.

thanks.

Bob,

Thanks for sharing that plan.
You absolutely nail it -- if all you need is descriptions and a nice looking plan like this, Site Development is perfect. Using Schematic Irrigation is only necessary if those GPM values will be useful to the agency. Or perhaps, if they would like to see something developed further, where you could indicate the mainline and valve locations, and what the watering window will be.
But there's nothing wrong with using the Site Development module for this -- in fact, note that you can create User Fields in case you'd like any pertinent data moved into columns.

Thanks J - I just never know if there is a better way to do things, you guys are always amazing me with new ways of doing things that as much as I try I always find a new trick around every corner!

is there a way to turn off cost and total when using Site Development?
The way it was originally designed, it was assumed there would be a cost applied.
But we are hearing more of cases like this, using it for other purposes.
There is already some code in the schedule function to turn off the cost if none is specified, so it will be rather trivial to apply this to the Site Development schedule. I'll get this on the list.
