We have our irrigation mainline set to a width of 0.06 in in the Pipe data defaults. The pipe shows up properly when laying out mainline in the plan, but when an irrigation schedule is produced it shows the line with a standard pen width which means the legend does not match the plan. Direction regarding how to resolve this is appreciated.

Thank you,
Daniel,

Your best bet would be to make sure the color used for the mainline in the schedule block is set to print at 0.06".
You could of course edit the block, located in Landfx/Blocks/Graphics/Irrigation/Schedule_Symbols -- but if you did that, it would only work when placed in Paperspace, preventing you from being able to place it in Modelspace as necessary.

Jeramiah,

Thank you for the response.

As the color/layer/width of the mainline in the schedule is set the same as the mainline in the plan, are you suggesting that the schedule block be edited to move the mainline symbol to a different layer corresponding to a 0.06" line-weight? This would have to be done every time a schedule is regenerated, correct? With all due respect, this feels like a bit of a clunky workaround just to get the schedule to match the drawing...especially considering how slick it is to have the default line width setting option now available. Is there something on the radar to better match the schedule representation to the default mainline width setting?

As an alternative to your previous suggestions, drawing a section of mainline over the top of the schedule representation of the mainline symbol results in an accurate representation in paperspace. Doing this will obviously affect mainline quantity takeoffs. Would this approach set me up for any other issues down the line on the project?

Thank you,
Daniel,

Let’s step through this.

The Width setting in the Pipe Data dialog is there to give the mainline a visible width in Modelspace, without having to turn Lineweights on, or run a print preview.

Meanwhile, the schedule displays a block (LAFX-PIPE-MAIN), thus giving you full control of what is displayed. The only consideration in editing this block, is that it would be nice to be able to place the schedule into Paperspace or Modelspace.

So one option would be to simply edit the schedule block and make the displayed polyline 0.06” wide. This would merit a quick check that if placed into Modelspace, the width was correctly multiplied by the block scale.

So one may instead opt to just set the layer used in the schedule block to a color that will print at 0.06” — this has the added benefit of being able to be altered through the CTB.

The goal of course is to avoid any manual steps. There is no reason to consider manually placing pipe in the schedule. Since there is a single block used for the mainline in the schedule, the only consideration is in how to edit it.
