Hi, We use your software in New Zealand, we have licences and see good potential for LandFX in our workflow.

However there are a few key things I hope to communicate below, to make the software usable in the way we do planting plans and communication with the contractor who is planting them.
We really want to use your software but it’s not working for us at the moment if you could look into the feasibility of some of these changes and get back to us?

Regards
Chris

We use concept schedule for the majority of planting plans. This is because we are working on large jobs and wouldn’t place individual plants (except for typical layout details) Therefore we use mix concept manager to create mixes. And a separate sheet describing a typical planting layout.

Limitations of customisation of Concept Manager/ Concept Schedule - cant layout plant schedule as we want it, heading for columns, notes of plants at the end , cant do cut out area hatches, doesn’t tell us when reached 100%, no customisation in terms of editing spacing of individual plant in different garden beds, customisation of individual comments for specific garden beds. No totals of concept schedules.

What we want to look like -
Concept manager ideal schedule output

Concept Manager- inability to duplicate mixes (need to manually pick a new mix currently)

Concept Manager- inability to duplicate mixes

Concept Manager- inability to add up totals in site area

LandFX- cant do this

What we want to do-
Concept Manager add total

Limitations of customisation Plant schedule- title and headings, doesn’t add up totals, cant customise detail comments

What we want to look like-

Happy to discuss these issues and more over the phone if the time difference works out

As an update to this post, we're in the process of working with Chris to investigate what improvements could be added to our planned future improvements for the plant mix tools.

Going to build off this thread... Is there a way to get plant symbols to fit within the table style of the Concept Schedule? I'm also unable to make the cell heights any smaller than 1/2".
Hi Jerrica,

The concept schedule is trying to keep the symbols at plan size. I'll make a note to look at allowing the concept table style schedule to stretch that first row if needed.

As a workaround, if you use a larger scale to make the schedule, the symbols will fit within (because plan size at a larger scale will be smaller on the sheet compared to the text size).
Make the world scale the scale you're using for you schedule, then use a work area around your plan for the scale you're drawing at. (This is because schedules placed in model space or paper space will always use the world scale, not a work area scale).

Or, easier - just use the drawing style.
