I have a large riparian restoration planting and it fits at 1:30 scale on 11x17.

I would like to break it up into smaller sections and show them at 1:10 scale, with each section on 11x17.

Is the Work Area a good solution for this? I haven't used them yet, but it seems like it's a good strategy.

David,

Work Areas are not necessary to accomplish what you describe, changing a 1:30 plan to three 1:10 plans.  What work areas will primarily offer, is the ability to create a separate schedule for each sheet, or even a single schedule with quantity columns for each.  Further, if any of the sheets was to have a differing scale or UCS, work areas can also assist with that.  Check them out more in this Power Tip.

Thank you.

So, to do it without Work Areas, is it just a matter of creating a new DWG, rescaling it and adjusting the viewport to feature the desired section of the drawing?
