How to Set the Number of Decimal Places in Annotation Objects

Issue

You want to control the number of decimal places in your drawing units (also known as the Precision) in annotation objects or callouts, including:

  • Spot Elevation callouts
  • Dimensions

Spot Elevation callouts with two decimal places

For example, when you place Spot Elevations relative to existing Spot Elevation callouts in your drawing, you want the numbers in the callouts to appear with two decimal places, as pictured to the left.

Solution

Type Units in the Command line and press Enter.

In the Drawing Units dialog box, select your desired number of decimal places from the Precision menu.

For example, select 0.00 if you want your units to appear with two decimal places.

Click OK to save the change.

Your annotation objects will now come in with the number of places you set in the Precision menu.
